Robert Sutton Esq
Dear Sir,
I had the pleasure of your note of the 25th inst. &
the following day in hopes of receiving some
intelligence from the next Packet in that day, yet the
books came [so] forwarded, while the last letters from
Europe not having arrived that [took] the European letters
to the packet which is at St. Thomas by way of G.B. to the
first mention I have waited to drop you these few lines, knowing
it will be gratifying to you to hear that yesterday morning we
were blessed with some very good showers. I now forward
you with some further information & computation from
[estate]— We have 60 acres of plant cane at Bolans 40 of
which I have manured, and we only want a continuation of
good weather to make them productive. In the Estates which
are under my care here, I do not feel half so anxious as for
yours as the proprietors of them are on the spot. They have an
opportunity of personally knowing the state of the cultivation— with yours
it is not so—
I am Dear Sir
Yours faithfully
D. Coulston
