Very fine 1868 entire LIVERPOOL to BOLOGNA. Franked with 6d PLATE 6 (hyphenated) most likely SG106 purple but could be SG107 bright violet.

Fine contents from Biddulph, Wood & Jevons a leading Liverpool tin plate and ironworks that went bust in 1885.

Nerdy factoid: the nephew of George Jevons, William Stanley Jevons is regarded as one of the founding fathers of mathematical economics responsible for various theorems including the Jevons Parodox which warned against technological progress as a means of reducing energy consumption.
