QV GB 1884 National Telephone Company (NTC) the rare 1/- bisect on piece with complete Dundee cancel.

This was in use in 1890-91 for a short period in Dundee only when the local post office office ran out of the 6d stamps so improvised with a bisected 1/- .

Only 60,000 of the 1/- were printed in total. Only a fraction of those were allocated to Dundee and obviously only a small number of those were bisected. So it’s rare.

Stanley Gibbons have a 1/- bisect for sale for £90. It’s nowhere near as good as this one as doesn’t show the complete cancel.
